Professor Liu Jiping from South China Agricultural University visited the Sang Park of the Ministry of Agriculture
On August 11, President Yang Hai of the Cambodian International Chamber of Commerce accompanied Professor Liu Jiping from South China Agricultural University and Zhang Yongqi, representative of the International Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong Province, and his delegation to visit the mulberry demonstration area planted by the Ministry of Agriculture of Cambodia. Under the guidance of the staff of the park, Professor Liu Jiping and others went deep into the park to understand the growth of mulberry trees and the status of mulberry cultivation. On-site also explained the knowledge of mulberry sericulture for technicians. He also learned how to master the management methods of mulberry trees in various growth stages. Knowledge and experience including fertilization, prevention of pests and diseases, and how to obtain high yields are shared with the participants. It is understood that Professor Liu Jiping is a Ph.D. student at the South China Agricultural University, a master’s tutor, a Chinese silkworm scientist, and the first person in China to receive the honor of the United Nations Development of the Silkworm Poverty Alleviation Project. Liu Jiping and his entourage were invited to attend the forum hosted by the Cambodian Wangjia Research Institute earlier this month to give a keynote speech on the development prospects of the silkworm industry and the value of silk products. It aims to help Cambodia develop mulberry sericulture and poverty alleviation projects.
